Insight is now included with Jira Service Management




Last year, Atlassian acquired the Mindville Insight app, an asset and configuration management solution. Atlassian announced that, starting from March 31st 2021, Insight capabilities are now included as part of Jira Service Management - in both the Data Center and Cloud Premium versions.


This means that admins have the ability to track relationships between users, services, applications, hardware and more!

Insight enables IT teams to:

  • Better respond to service requests by gaining greater context of issues

  • Minimise IT risk by understanding the downstream impact of changes

  • Add context to troubleshoot and resolve major incidents and problems at high velocity

  • Discover and track assets that aid with planning, audits, and compliance


Here is a breakdown of the new licensing and billing changes for Jira Service Management:


Customers on a monthly billing plan
Are you currently using... From 31 March 2021 From 31 March 2022

JSM Premium edition and Insight Cloud app 

Existing premium customers will be moved to a $0 price plan and will continue to have the Insight Cloud app until the end of life for this app.

Insight Cloud marketplace app is delisted completely from the app store and existing customers will no longer be able to renew their subscriptions. Customers must have completed their data migration from the marketplace app to the system app to avoid data loss. Contact us for assistance with migration.

JSM Premium edition but don't have Insight Cloud app installed

Customers will get the Insight feature enabled on their site from 31 March 2021.


JSM free or Standard editions and don't have Insight Cloud app installed

Customers will no longer be able to install the Insight Cloud app and will need to upgrade to a premium edition to get access to the Insight feature. By upgrading to the premium edition, customers will get a 30-day trial that includes Insight.

Are you currently using... Renewal periods and free trials

JSM free or Standard editions with Insight Cloud app installed

  • Renewed before the trial period started (31 March 2021). Will be placed into a trial plan from 31 March 2021 and run until the next renewal date.

  • Renewed during the trial period (31 March 2021). Will be placed into a trial plan from 31 March 2021 and run until the next renewal date.

  • Renewed after the trial period (31 March 2021). Will be placed into a trial plan from 31 March 2021 and run until the next renewal date.

JSM Premium edition but don't have Insight Cloud app installed

Customers will get the Insight feature enabled on their site from 31 March 2021.

JSM Premium edition and Insight Cloud app 

The insight Cloud app will be moved to a $0 plan from March 31 2021 to March 31 2022.
