Instant Websites for Confluence February Update

The development team here at GLiNTECH have been working hard to bring some crucial updates to Instant Websites for Confluence Cloud. We have listened to our customers and added some new features and also fixed several common bugs.

What's New

You asked and we listened! You can now generate a sitemap as part of your Instant Website. A sitemap provides a road-map to your site, detailing pages, images and other files. Search engines read this file to more effectively crawl your site.

On initial activation, the sitemap will be built and then updated each time a page is published.

To turn on your website's sitemap, navigate to the Instant Website configuration panel, navigate to Metadata and turn on the Sitemap toggle. You can also change the URL to your desired location.

Draw.io Diagram for Confluence

Instant Websites now supports the draw.io Diagrams for Confluence app. Requested by several of our customers, Instant Websites will now render your beautifully created diagrams, flowcharts and wireframes on your site.

What we've fixed

New Confluence Editor

Late last year, Atlassian released a new editing experience for Confluence Cloud. Whilst we found that most of the layout changes were well rendered by Instant Websites, some things weren't looking quite right. The latest version of Instant Websites sees a number of changes introduced to ensure that content continues to be rendered correctly.

Macros and URLs

Just when we thought we had all links covered, Instant we were alerted to some links that were produced as TinyURLs. To support these on a rendered site we have introduced a TinyURL parser that will ensure your site navigation works just like your space. A small bug with the Expand macro has also been fixed.
